There are several ways to search an estate to view their documents. The first two ways are using the Ascend platform. 



Searching for estates in Ascend and the FileAssure link


Within Ascend, if you have the FileAssure link enabled, you can simple search an estate and the FileAssure website should open on the exact same estate.


If you are presented with a screen where the estate does not exist in Fileassure, you can create the record yourself. 


1. Open Ascend and access the corresponding estate. You will then be presented with the following screen in FileAssure:

1. Copy and paste the first name text from Ascend into the first name text box in FileAssure

 

2. Copy and paste the last name text from Ascend into the last name text box in FileAssure

 

3. (Optional) Copy and paste the estate number from Ascend into the estate number text box in FileAssure


 


4. Type in the full debtor file name, or a segment of it in the following text box:

 


5. Click Search 


6. Select the record 

7. Click Proceed


 

Searching for estates in Ascend and the FA button


The third way of searching an estate to view documents within Fileassure is by using the search function within FA. This is a direct way of viewing documents pertaining to a certain record. 


1. Click the search button (Magnifying glass) 

2. Search the criteria you are looking for (debtor’s name, estate or file name) 

3. Once given the search results, select the record you are looking for 

4. Once on the record, click the side menu then the documents tab 

5. You should now be viewing the documents page 


Recent Estates

If you would like to quickly view the documents page of an estate you recently viewed, FileAssure has a recent estates button with the last 10 estates you had visited.
